Iran’s top diplomats are head of a political delegation made up of legal, political, banking and financial experts, leaving Tehran to attend the fifth round of these talks with President Donald Trump’s special mission, Steve Witkov.
Iran’s Minister of Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Justice and International Foreign Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaai and many other diplomats and experts are among the members of the mandate that accompany Araghchi during nuclear talks.
Iran’s top diplomats have held four rounds of nuclear talks (three times in Muscat and one in Rome) so far.
The talks that began in April are the highest level of contact between the two countries since the United States unilaterally left the 2015 nuclear deal during President Donald Trump’s first term.
Earlier on Wednesday, Araguchi said the Iranian delegation was reviewing the proposed time and venue for the fifth round meeting.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busadi said the fifth round of negotiations will take place in Rome on Friday.
