Speaking at a ceremony commemorating Holamshaal’s liberation on Saturday, the deputy political vice-chairman of the Political Islamic Thinking Bureau of Armed Forces Commander Rasool Sanaye Rado said the Americans agreed to negotiate after realising that the Americans were unable to use the military’s powers against Iran.
“The conquest of Khorramshahr and eight years of resistance by the Iranian state in the imposed war led the United States to recognize the war with Iran as costly and dangerous.
He emphasizes the need to stand up to the excessive demands of the United States today, like eight years of sacred defense against the Western-backed Saddam administration, and calls for the nuclear industry to be sustained.
“Our dignity today and our future interests depend on resistance, just as the country’s independence was preserved by the unjust resistance during war imposed.”
