Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian spoke before departing for Oman, saying that his visit was being held at the invitation of Sultan Haisam bin Tarik of Oman. The trip is in line with the general policy set up by the leaders of the Islamic Revolution, which aimed to promote strong relations with neighboring countries.
“We are pursuing the best possible relationship with our neighbors,” Pezeschkian said, highlighting cooperation in the scientific, economic and trade sectors.
He noted that regional peace, particularly Palestinian development, will also be discussed during the visit to deepen a common understanding.
The president emphasized the need for regional unity in the face of Israeli atrocities. “A sane and conscientious person cannot accept or tolerate the brutal acts committed by Zionists,” he said. “We must unite and continue to protest through international organizations.”
Referring to the $2.3 billion trade volume between Iran and Oman, Pezeshkian highlighted the growing bilateral relations, saying the trip will include discussions on shipping, trade, science, technology, industry and investment relations.
