Russia’s foreign ministry accused Iran of continuing Israeli attacks on Tuesday, saying that solutions to the conflict over Tehran’s nuclear program can only be found through diplomacy.
“Continued, concentrated Israeli attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear lands are illegal from an international law perspective, creating an unacceptable threat to international security and driving the world into a nuclear catastrophe…”
The widespread condemnation of Israel’s actions stated that Israel “in fact was a co-participant and found support only from states that acted on opportunistic reasons.
The ministry said Iran “is ready to renew its unchanged commitment to its nuclear non-proliferation treaty obligations and to renew its contact with the United States.”
“Moscow supports this position and is confident that the reconciliation sought can only be achieved through diplomacy and negotiations,” he said.
The statement also said that Moscow is waiting for the International Atomic Energy Agency to provide a detailed written report as soon as possible.
