Speaking to the UN Disarmament Conference on Tuesday, Ali Bareini emphasized that despite the United Nations Security Council’s permanent member and signatories of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the United States has cooperated with the Israeli regime to launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear power plants and an overseen attack by the International Energy Agency (I IAEA).
The attack targeted not only Iran but also the entire global non-proliferation system, the ambassador added.
He is NPT. He criticized the United States in collaboration with a nuclear-armed regime that had not signed the law, warning that attacks against Iran will have widespread consequences for international peace and security, leaving stains on US records.
Bahreini emphasized that since 1970, Iran has been sticking to the NPT and has only advocated for the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Nevertheless, Iran faces unfair sanctions and military attacks on its protected facilities.
He urged the United Nations, including the Security Council, the Secretary-General and the IAEA, to respond promptly and firmly to the total violation of international law by the US and Israeli regimes.
He concluded that Iran consistently demonstrates its determination and strength in protecting its land, its people and its rights, and that he would not hesitate to defend itself if attacked.
During the session, most members of the conference condemned US and Israeli military attacks on Iran and called for the pursuit of a peaceful resolution on Iran’s nuclear program.
