In an interview with NBC News on Sunday regarding the recent US-Zionist invasion of Iran, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy added that Trump’s military attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities are illegal.
“It’s a decision made by the House. It’s not a decision made by the Senate. But it’s clear that this is illegal,” Murphy said when asked if he agreed to Senator Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s comments that Trump’s strike was the basis for each.
The House votes on whether to fire each president, and the Senate votes for convictions.
The president can launch a military attack if there is a “declaration of war,” Congressional approval, or “an attack on the United States, a national emergency with its territory or property, or its military.”
The Senate voted against a resolution last week requiring Trump to seek Congressional approval before allowing additional military action against Iran. The vote was almost entirely along the party line, with Senator Rand Paul watching alongside Democrats.
