The NA phone conversation was with French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday night, when President Pezeschkian responded to concerns from French counterparts about Iran’s decision to stop cooperation with the IAEA. He said the decision was rooted in the director’s false report on Iran’s nuclear program and the failure of Rafael Grossi to condemn the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The Iranian president said all Iran’s nuclear activities are under IAEA supervision as the US and Zionist regimes targeted these facilities on double standards in dealing with Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities compared to the Iranian administration’s atomic weapons program.
He added that the Zionist regime is not a member of the treaty on the shortage of nuclear weapons (NPT) and is opposed to international regulations over the past few years.
The President evaluated the agency’s recent actions as a source of concern about public trust in Iran, highlighting that the first step towards rebuilding this broken trust is the full commitment of this international organization.
Considering recent experience, what is the assurance that Iran’s nuclear facilities will not be attacked again, assuming continued cooperation with the IAEA?
He emphasized Iran’s principled policy of avoiding war and anxiety while pursuing solutions through diplomacy and dialogue, and expressed his hope that international organizations, including the IAEA, will comply with their commitment to member states to pave the way for peace and security.
Macron expressed his sadness to Pezeshkian for the Iranian martyrism during the attacks of the Zionist regime. He said France was one of the first countries to condemn these attacks on Iran, telling Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his administration had no legal status or justification to intervene in Iran’s nuclear file.
France also understands and affirms Iran’s position on the correct implementation of the law by the IAEA, and Paris emphasizes the continued cooperation of Tehran with the agency, even within a new framework, even in its ongoing dialogue with European countries.
