According to AFP, “short-term extreme heavy rainfall” hit Henan province towns late at night from 9pm on Monday and El Lampin towns from 9pm on Monday to midnight, AFP reported.
The cumulative 225.3 mm (8.9 inches) of rain has dramatically risen the local Shewei River, saying it will “deal with several facilities and leave people locked up.”
“So far, two of the trapped people have been rescued, two have been killed and six remain missing,” he said.
He also said local governments have launched a full-scale search and rescue mission in the areas where they were attacked.
State media reports say floods in southern Gitsow last week killed six people, killed more than 80,000 people, displaced more than 80,000 people, and extreme weather took over much of China.
Authorities issued a heat warning in Beijing last week as temperatures in the capital rose to nearly 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).
The heavy rains evacuated tens of thousands of people last month in central China’s Hunan province.
