Hazrat Abul Fazl Al-Abbas (AS) was born in the sacred city of Madina on the fourth day of Shaban, Hijrah, 26 years.
He was the son of the first Shiites Imam Ali Ibn Abu Talib and Fatima bint Hizam.
His mother was Om Al Banin Fatima bint Hizam, famous for the courage and courage of the Al Kirabiya clan. Imam Ali (AS) married several years after his beloved wife, Hazrat Fatema Zahra (SA), passed away the daughter of the prophet Mohammad (Pbuh).
Hazrat Abbas (AS) (AS) was more than 20 years younger than his brother’s brother, the grandchildren of the Prophet, Imam Hasan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS), and from an early age, had been extremely attached to them. He never referred to their pure white bloodlines as brothers, but he called them lords and masters.

At the Battle of Karbara he was like a shadow beside Imam Hussein, and while trying to remove the water for Imam’s thirsty camp, he first lost his hands and sacrificed his life, but even if he succeeded in reaching the bank of the Euphrates River, he never tasted any water droplets.

Protecting the Imam, protecting the tents of women in the Prophet’s household, caring for children, making sacrifices to bring water to the thirsty camp of Imam Hussein (pbuh), was one of the most beautiful and apical manifestations of his life in Kalbara.
Today, his shrine is a sentinel to the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and is seeking intercession with the Almighty God by pilgrims around the world, telling him as “Bab al Murad” or gateway to needs.

Abbas is considered by the Shiites as the ultimate paragon of courage, chivalry, love, integrity and self-sacrifice. Hazrat Al-Abbass also has a very large position in Islam.
The Shiites are pleasing to Abbas in Tawasul and ask him to join them in prayer.

Tawassol is one of Shia and most Muslim beliefs, meaning relying on someone with a high status as an intermediary before God, and approaching God so that he can fulfill his demands.

Therefore, Abbas is associated with the Shiites and the ease of sadness and suffering. A serious pledge is made in his name, and the Shiites distribute food for charity as part of the vows made in the name of Abbas.
