In response to the 17th eco-summit held at Azerbaijan’s President Kankendi, President Pezeshkian said Iran’s Islamic Republic forces had carried out defensive military operations against Israeli targets in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The president said Israel launched the war by violating all international laws, including Article 2 (4) of the UN Charter, and joined the United States and committed various criminal acts against Iranian non-service military personnel, university professors, civilians and nuclear facilities for peaceful activities during the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
He thanked Eco members for their “responsible position” during the Israeli war with Iran, saying the ongoing summit is another opportunity to inform the world about the regional and global impact of Israeli war of aggression on Iran.
President Pezeshkian was greeted and welcomed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev when he arrived at the Kankendi summit on Friday.
The Israeli regime attacked Iran on June 13 with an unattacked act of attack overnight. The residential building was hit directly. The same was true of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
That same day, Iranian forces promised Israel to “open the gates of hell,” and launched a wave of punitive strikes within Israel’s occupied territory, attacking sensitive areas in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa, attacking missile and drone salvos.
On June 22, the US violated Iranian airspace and launched a strike against three Iranian nuclear facilities. A day later, Iran launched a missile at the largest military base in the United States in West Asia, the headquarters of the US Air Force Central Command in Qatar. The following day, on June 24th, Israel stopped the fire.
At least 935 Iranians were killed in the invasion. This includes 140 women and children. More than 5,640 people were injured.
