Pakistan Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Sharif made his pledge when he met Iranian President Maud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of Azerbaijan’s Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit Kankendi on Friday.
The Pakistan Prime Minister praised Pezeshkian’s role during the Israeli regime’s 12-day war, highlighting Islamabad’s solidarity and unwavering support for Tehran.
At the meeting, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress of the decisions made at the previous meeting to consider continued cooperation between their countries in all areas and further strengthen bilateral relations.
They also discussed the situation in the region that has evolved following the unscrupulous war of Israel’s invasion on Iran.
Commenting Iran’s forced the Israeli regime to announce a ceasefire during the recent crisis, Sharif repeatedly held solidarity between Iranian people in Pakistan and the government.
He said Islamabad is committed to continuing to work closely with Tehran for regional peace through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Pakistan Prime Minister also gave his warm greeting to the leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Next, Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s powerful diplomatic support for Iran during the recent US-backed Israeli war, including the International Forum, and thanked Sharif for his important role in reducing Pakistan’s tensions.
Previously, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakch and his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dal, also met on the sidelines at the Eco Summit in Kankendi.
