His remarks came at the post-service ceremony of late IRGC Commander Lieutenant General Hossein Salami in Tehran on Friday.
Why is it important:
This is one of Iran’s clearest warnings following the 122-day Israeli war against Iran, indicating that Tehran is not only being prepared for retaliation, but that certain decisive operations are ready. The comments also elevate General Salami’s iconic and strategic legacy and describe him as a model of battlefield leadership.
Mousavi emphasized that the plan was created following the leadership of the first command of the Islamic Revolution after the initiation of hostilities.
Although it was withheld due to a suspension of conflict, he said it was ready for use immediately.
The statement reinforces Tehran’s message that future escalations will be met with powerful and unpredictable retaliation.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi: “If the Zionists make repeated mistakes, then the crippling plan will be carried out without question.”
“The courage, firmness, fearless frontline presence defined his way of life. He supported him until his final breath.”
“He was unshakable in front of his enemies, but he was calm and cheered among his friends and peers.”
Speaking to the people, he said, “You are a country that is unique. With unity and determination, you have made your enemies recede and bend your knees.”
“As an experienced and innovative commander with a knowledge of a variety of operational theatres, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpur will advance the IRGC with even greater strength.”
