This response follows the announcement of what US President Donald Trump labeled as the “final proposal” for a 60-day ceasefire.
Israel reports that the contract includes a framework for staged Israeli forces withdrawal, prisoners and bodies released, and an extended negotiations for a permanent agreement.
“Israel” has not promised to end the war with Gaza, but has reportedly expressed conditional approval to resume dialogue beyond the first truce period. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains silent despite pressure from the international community that the government has continuously destroyed Gaza’s infrastructure and refused to commit to a complete ceasefire.
“We handed our response to the mediators, Qatar and Egypt to the proposal for a ceasefire,” Hamas official told Reuters. “Hamas’ response is positive and I think it should help and encourage it to reach the deal,” added another official involved in the discussion.
The proposed ceasefire will release the prisoners of war that the resistance holds in stages, starting with eight live prisoners on the first day, with additional releases being seen on the 50th and 60th day in addition to the return of the 18 bodies. In exchange, “Israel” began withdrawing its troops from northern and southern Gaza under the surveillance of the United Nations and the Red Crescent. Technical teams tackle boundary boundaries and humanitarian aid begins to flow quickly.
