Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi is currently in Rio de Janeiro to attend the 17th Brick Summit.
According to Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aragucci thanked the Brazilian summit, highlighting the important role of BRICS in promoting multilateralism and supporting the rule of international law. He also highlighted the importance of continuing Iran-Brazil’s cooperation, both bilateral and within international organizations.
Referring to the US military aggression against the Zionist regime and Iran, Aragucci expressed his gratitude for the Brazilian company and its principled attitude to condemn these attacks. “The illegal attacks by the United States and Israel are not only a blatant violation of the UN Charter, but also an unprecedented attack on the foundations of non-proliferation regime and diplomatic that have many consequences for the peace and security of the region,” he emphasized.
Aragut attributed the continued Israeli attack to its immunity and the full support it received from the US and several European countries. He highlighted the legal and moral liability of all states to stop Israeli crimes and regional attacks against Palestinians.
The Brazilian Foreign Minister has repeatedly denounced his country’s steadfast against the military attacks on Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, particularly its peaceful nuclear facilities. He also highlighted the responsibility of the UN Security Council to protect international peace and security.
The two ministers also considered the bilateral relationship and expressed their satisfaction with growing economic and trade relations. They agreed to hold a joint economic committee between the two countries in the near future.
