The results of a poll by the Iranian Parliamentary Research Centre, released Monday, showed that nearly 60% of Iranians believe they have achieved better regional status after the 12-day war with Israel ended on June 24th.
About 80% of poll participants believed that Iran’s retaliatory missile attacks had caused high or very high damage to the Israeli regime, according to Press TV.
Over 61% of those surveyed thought Iran was more militarily stronger than Israel during the war, but about 20% said both sides were in a state of balance.
The results of a poll issued by the official IRNA news agency showed that over 81% of Iranians viewed foreign-based opposition groups and their activities during the Israeli attacks as opportunistic attempts to gain power in the country.
Around 74% of respondents believed that Iran should maintain and expand its nuclear program despite pressure from the US and its allies that Iran used as an excuse to launch the attack.
The vote comes amid reports and analysis suggesting that Israel’s attacks on Iran have significantly strengthened the country’s social unity and that ethnic, religious and political groups have made more voices in the support of the state.
Around 1,000 people have been killed in Israel’s invasion of Iran, including senior military commanders and nuclear scientists.
The unprovoked attack caused a powerful response to Iran, launching catastrophic missile and drone attacks on cities and towns controlled by the occupied Palestinian Israeli regime.
