Iran’s Foreign Minister Says Abbas Aragci, who traveled to Brazil with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday afternoon to attend the 17th BRICS Summit.
During the meeting, Aragut outlined the dimensions of US military attacks on Iran by the Zionist regime and by the US. He noted that attacks, including attacks on residential areas, killing university professors and elites, assassination of military and civilians, and attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities in Iran, constituted a severe violation of international law.
In the face of these blatant offensive actions, Araguchi strongly criticized the UN Security Council’s inaction.
Iran’s foreign minister described the conspiracy with Israel to attack Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites as a fatal blow to the NPT and a violation of UN Security Council resolution 2231.
Araguchi also referred to UN Security Council resolution 487 and called on Guterres to take appropriate measures as UN chief accordingly.
Guterres has expressed deep concern on his part about recent developments and the serious risks these military attacks pose to international peace and security. He reaffirmed his preparations to help eliminate tension.
The Zionist regime fought a war of aggression against Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear power and residential areas for 12 days, but the US carried out a military attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, Natanz, Fordau and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities across the occupying territories.
In response to the US attack, Iranian forces fired waves of missiles at Aldead Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
The battle was suspended due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
