Signatories, who teach advanced Islamic jurisprudence and theology, emphasized that they are ready to defend their leadership position. The figures pledge to respond to any crimes against the status of Ayatollah Khamenei, along with the sacrifice of his life on the jihad stage.
They called Iran’s military response to Israel a historic blow brought about through God’s promises and faith in leadership. The signatories warned the enemy against targeting their leaders, claiming that the threat would only invite a fierce response from the Shia community.
One of Iran’s most senior Shiite clergy, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makalem Shiraj, previously issued the Order (Fatwa), a religious order, which declared that the individual or regime threatening the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the authority of religion (Marja) was Mohale (sinner in the sense that it means opposition to God).
The presence of Ayatollah Khamenei at the official ceremony to mark the martialism of the third Shia Imam has won widespread praise from Iranian officials and politicians, all highlighting Iranian unity and resilience to foreign threats.
