A senior Iranian commander emphasized that the US has taken direct responsibility for Israel’s recent attacks against Iran and has vowed to seriously retaliate against such attacks.
He spoke in an interview with Lebanon-based Al Mayaden News Network, adding that Washington has the primary accountability for escalation.
The brigadier general emphasized that Iran will never launch a conflict, but reserves the right to bring about an overwhelming response to any attack.
“We should understand that the enemy and this wild regime face five billion Muslims who will never surrender,” General Shekalch said.
“We have consistently emphasized not to launch aggression, but we responded to our enemies with overwhelming force,” he added.
General Shekalch added that the ceasefire only reached after the Zionist groups suffered a serious loss inflicted by the Iranian forces.
He revealed that the Iranian strike caused significant damage to the US military’s position at Aldead Air Base in Qatar.
“If the enemy is as honest and democratic as they claim, then let the world see the extent of the damage and destruction they have caused,” he said.
General Shekalch warned that if Iranian forces were further provoked, they were fully prepared to unleash even more powerful responses.
“Our military has the capacity to bring about even more devastating responses, and we are ready to demonstrate this in practice and on the ground,” he insisted.
On June 13, Israel carried out a blatant, unprovocative attack on Iran, assassinating senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, as well as civilians.
Israeli assault targets military and nuclear sites as well as critical civil infrastructure, including Iran’s Islamic Broadcasting (IRGC) headquarters, health services and facilities, and residential areas.
