The first vice president of Mohammad-Reza Aref says he is pursuing this policy that future consultations with the United States must have authority and power.
AREF spoke at a meeting with several academics at Sharif Institute of Technology on Saturday, saying that political and military authorities all agreed that future negotiations should be held with strength.
There may be different opinions during the decision-making process, but once the decision is finalized, those differences end, he said. President Masoud Pezeshkian’s management is not disagreement with factions within the system, and the government supports negotiating with strength, the VP added.
He also praised the role of Iranian people in the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime last month, saying that the contributions of people to defend the country against the enemy are important as the enemy’s strategy was to cause Iran’s unrest. However, he added that people stood firm and stopped the plot.
After the war, social cohesion and community trust have been strengthened, but it is essential to maintain them, he said, adding that academics must advance these situations and propose practical and strategic solutions to maintain social cohesion.
Israel launched a war of attack on Iran on June 13, three days before sixth round talks between Tehran and Washington over Iran’s nuclear program. Israel attacked nuclear sites and residential areas, assassinating top military officials and nuclear scientists, and killing civilians.
The war ended 12 days later by a ceasefire announced on June 24th. The Israeli attacks have killed 1,060 people in Iran, according to the head of Iranian foundations and veterans foundations.
