Iran’s top diplomat Abbas Aragchi made comments on Saturday in a speech to a meeting with Ambassadors in Tehran, Charges and Affair, and head of foreign missions, on Foreign Ministry compounds.
He said Iran is very good at all the countries that condemned the recent Israeli aggression against Iran, saying “around 120 countries have condemned the Zionist regime and the US’s invasion of Iran.”
Elsewhere, Araghchi said cooperation with the IAEA has not stopped, adding, “Iran is a subservient member of the NPT and is working with the institution.”
“We have not stopped working with our institutions and have just acquired a new form. From now on, our relationship with the institutions will be managed by the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).”
“The agency’s request to continue cooperation with Iran will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the SNSC and decided based on safety and security considerations,” the minister explained.
“Security and safety are concerns for inspectors approaching the nuclear facility that was attacked,” he elaborated.
“The fact of the matter is that our nuclear facilities are being attacked and proximity to these facilities presents risks, including the spread of radioactive materials and explosions. And we consider security and safety issues to be a concern for inspectors when approaching these facilities.”
Meanwhile, he emphasized that “there is no other way beyond returning to diplomacy.”
“There is no other way than to go back to the agreed solutions negotiated with diplomacy. The recent war has proven this even more than before.”
“But before that, the other side must reassure us that they want diplomacy rather than using diplomacy as a target as a cover,” Aragucci was emphasized with a clear reference to the fact that the invader Israeli regime and the United States launched a war in Iran on June 13th.
