“We advocate diplomacy and constructive interactions and oppose war,” Peshshkian said in a message to foreigners in Iran on Monday, according to Press TV.
“To remove the shadow of war from our country, we will use all our political and diplomatic resources freely at our own freedom, defending the natural rights of the people of Iran,” he said.
He added that Iran never asked to fight war, but instead it is always intended to play an effective role in promoting peace that can be endured in the world.
However, the president warned his opponent that while the Iranians were seeking peace, they would never be obedient.
Based on its historical, cultural and religious ties, Iran calls for justice and human dignity in all countries, Pezeshkian emphasized.
Pointing to the recent Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic, he said that despite his distrust of Americans, Zionist enemies attacked Iran while engaged in negotiations with the United States.
He added that Tehran will take part in consultations with Washington to “clear public misconceptions and prove the peaceful nature of nuclear activity.”
As the two countries are set to negotiate five rounds and hold new talks, the US-backed Israeli regime attacked Iran and killed Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including innocent women and children.
“We have repeatedly announced that our doctrine is based on a peaceful nuclear program. Experience shows that every time Iran moves towards stability and peace, the Zionist regime intervenes and undermines it,” Pezeshkian said.
He pointed out that Iran’s legitimate self-defense during the 12-day war was in line with all international principles and regulations and the UN Charter.
