Upon arriving in China, Abbas Araguchi said his trip was intended to attend the 25th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Agency (SCO) to be held tomorrow in Tianjin, China, hosted by the Chinese government.
Shanghai cooperative organizations are steadily expanding beyond regional frameworks, he said, to address a wide range of economic, political and security issues.
He went on to say that the summit has finalised the development strategy of the SCO, particularly in the areas of energy, trade and other sectors, and added that major international topics will also be discussed at the summit.
“On the sidelines of the summit, there will be opportunities for bilateral meetings,” he said. “Additional bilateral meetings with other SCO members will also be held to discuss both regional development and bilateral relations.”
“Israel and the US attacks on Israel and its peaceful nuclear facilities have been condemned by almost all international and regional organisations, and we must emphasize that over 120 countries have expressed solidarity and support for the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Araguchi emphasizes.
Araguchi further cited that the SCO also issued a timely and praiseworthy statement denounced the attack. “This issue will undoubtedly be discussed in a general session tomorrow, and we will address it thoroughly in our official speech at the summit,” concluded Araguchi.
The Zionist regime fought a war of attack on Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, but the US carried out a military attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, Natanz, Fordou and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities throughout the occupying territories.
In response to the US attack, Iranian forces fired waves of missiles at Aldead Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
The battle was suspended due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
