Iranian diplomats who dealt with the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Foreign Affairs held in China on Tuesday were to establish a collective security organisation to tackle the security challenges faced by member states.
1. Establish permanent mechanisms to monitor, document and coordinate responses to military attacks, sabotage, state terrorism, and member states’ violations of national sovereignty.
2. Establish a “center of research and counter-confrontation against unilateral sanctions” that will be responsible for developing strategies to counter illegal economic sanctions and protect member states’ supply chains, banking systems and trade exchanges.
3. Establish a “Shanghai Regional Security Forum” with the participation of member states’ defense and intelligence reporting agencies to address shared threats such as terrorism, extremism, organized crime, and cyber threats.
4. Deepen cultural integration among member states as a means of unilateral narratives promoted by means of cognitive wars and media weapons of hegemonic forces.
Before proposing four recommendations, Aragut referred to the recent attacks by the Israeli regime and the US on Iran, saying, “The Israeli attack on Iran was a clear violation of Article 2, Article 4, and a clear violation of Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter, constituted an armed act of aggression. Regime.”
He further stated that the attacks carried out by the US and Israel on peaceful nuclear facilities are a surprising violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), resolutions from numerous International Atomic Energy Agency, and UN Security Council resolution 487.
The Iranian minister further emphasized that “legal rules do not allow peaceful nuclear facilities under protection to target attacks based solely on political speculation.”
