In an interview with a reporter for Phoenix Television in China in Iran, Esmail Baghhai mentioned that his boss, Abbas Aragchi, is continuing to China to participate in the Shanghai Cooperative Organization’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
Regarding the interaction between Iran and China, he said: “We will always consult and discuss with Chinese officials about the latest regional and international developments and bilateral issues. We believe that China can play an important and constructive role in the diplomatic process related to Iran’s nuclear issue.”
He said, “Iranian Foreign Minister will consult with and discuss his Chinese counterparts during his visit to China.”
In response to questions about the role China can play in the Iranian reconstruction process after the 12-day Israeli attack, Baguei said, “The Chinese have a good record in Iran’s economy and development activities.”
“As a developing country in the southern part of the world, China is extremely influential and has a future-looking role. It can play an important role in the processes related to reconstructing and supporting Iran’s economic development. This is a process that has begun in recent years and will maintain greater strength during the 25-year agreement,” an Iranian spokesman added.
