Syrian US envoy and Turkish Ambassador Tom Barack have announced that Syrian interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa and Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu have agreed to a ceasefire following the clash between Sweda, in southern Syria.
The Barracks urged all religious and ethnic groups, including the Druze, Bedouins and Sunnis, to lay arms and cooperate with each other for a unified Syria.
The London-based WAR Monitor Syrian Human Rights Observatory reported that Sweida’s death toll has increased to 718. However, Syrian Health Ministry has declared that 260 people have lost their lives and 1,698 people have been injured in the recent clash.
Syria’s highest Fatwa council has declared attempts to demand assistance from the Israeli regime, harming civilians and incitement of sectarianism illegal. The Damascus government also emphasized its obligation to protect all people, ban Syrian targets by sects, and to support self-defense and aid for those oppressed under Islamic law.
The Israeli regime carried out airstrikes on the Syrian Ministry of Defense in Damascus on Wednesday, targeting Syrian government forces in Sweida.
