President Pezeschkian emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with neighboring countries to promote the growth of the free trade industry and special economic zones in Tehran on Monday.
He also highlighted the urgent need to reform costly, time-consuming and inefficient customs processes, along with increased surveillance in these regions.
The President called for a thorough assessment of the performance of the free zone that is consistent with established objectives. He successfully used the global example of exploiting the possibilities of free zones and highlighted the need to analyze countries that have effectively optimized these opportunities.
Pezeshkian also acknowledged Iran’s abundant human resources, internal capabilities and specialized workforce, and advocated the strategic involvement of well-known international advisors to increase productivity in the free zone.
Furthermore, he highlighted the important importance of choosing a competent, efficient and qualified manager to oversee free zones, and emphasized that these choices should be based on strict professional standards and merits rather than personal or political affiliation.
Pezeshkian concluded by stating that the council is expected to identify innovative ideas and work with the council on the legal reforms necessary to implement them, if necessary. He asserted that these reforms would undoubtedly pave the way for growth and progress within the freedom zone.
