Upon his arrival, Munir met with China’s foreign minister at a meeting highlighting the depth of bilateral relations.
According to Xinhua, China’s state news agency, Wang Yi reiterated that the Chinese troops strongly support friendship between China and Pakistan. Munir, on his side, praised Beijing for his lavishing and calling both countries the “Iron Brothers.” This is a term often used to emphasize the strength and reliability of a partnership.
The visit comes when Pakistan received a “appropriate response” to a terrorist attack in Pahargam in April. Having lost the ground, it is desperate to strengthen our military diplomacy with China, now an all-weather friend.
China-Pakistan relations have been approaching for a long time, with Beijing having expanded considerable support for Islamabad during India’s Operation Sindoah. During the visit, Munir created a repeated overture of gratitude, describing China-Pakistan relations as “bearing the test of time.”
Munir said strengthening friendly cooperation with China enjoys widespread support across Pakistani society. He vowed that Pakistani military has taken all necessary measures to protect Pakistani Chinese citizens, businesses and projects, and has pledged to actively strengthen counterterrorism cooperation with China.
He also thanked Pakistan for his support in many ways, ensuring that the Pakistani military is fully committed to protecting the country’s Chinese people and infrastructure projects. “Every step was taken that was necessary to ensure their security,” he said.
