The agency said it must be allowed to resume testing after last month’s Israeli-US airstrikes aimed at destroying Iran’s nuclear program, Reuters reported.
Grossi in Singapore argued that Iran should “ensure transparency” with nuclear facilities and related activities.
He told reporters alongside the public lecture that the IAEA has proposed that Iran “start a discussion on modalities on how to resume or start again (tests).
“This is what we’re trying to do, and we’ll probably start with technical details and then proceed to a high-level consultation later,” Grossi said.
On Wednesday, Deputy Minister Kazem Galibabadi said Iran agreed to allow IAEA technical teams to visit in the coming weeks but would not go to nuclear sites.
