Speaking to the media following Friday’s prayer, Turkish President Recept Tayyip Erdogan commented on peace talks for the Russian Ukraine, saying, “This week, let’s talk with Putin and Trump and see if we can bring them together in Istanbul.”
Erdogan said this week that after the Russian and Ukrainian delegations met this week, he may talk to his Russians and US counterparts to see if a leader’s meeting in Istanbul could discuss the war in Ukraine.
“We’ll see if we can bring these leaders together in Istanbul by calling (Russian President Vladimir) and (US President Donald) during this week. That’s our efforts,” he told reporters.
Erdogan has issued a statement about the ongoing bushfire. “We are facing a major disaster, and in this catastrophe, all heroic firefighters demonstrate every possible act of courage. The efforts of the firefighters are actively involved and continue to carry 105 helicopters.
