“We’re going to put sanctions on the ground. We don’t know that sanctions will bother him (Russian President Vladimir Putin). They know about sanctions, they know more about sanctions, tariffs and everything else than anyone else.
“But this is a war that should never have happened. This is a war that would not have happened if I were president, this is a war that (former US President Joe) Biden. This is a stupid war and I would never have entered this war,” he added.
The American leader previously set a 50-day deadline for reaching an agreement between Russia and Ukraine, and then pledged to impose a 100% trade obligation on Moscow and its trading partners. On Monday, Trump said he was disappointed with Russia’s progress in reconciliation and reduced the deadline to 10-12. Trump believes Russia and Ukraine should reach a peaceful settlement agreement by August 8th, said John Kelly, the United Nations representative of the United Nations.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian president, said the Kremlin had warned Trump’s statement.
