The bomb, designed by the Turkey Ministry of Defense Research and Development (R&D) Centre, was announced at Istanbul’s International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025.
Gazap disperses 10.16 fragment explosions per metre, not 3 metres, officials told Anadolu.
Due to its explosive effect, the bomb has extremely destructive abilities and can be dropped from F-16 fighter jets.
“The R&D Center has revised its explosiveness and filler design,” the official said. “The certification and certification process is complete and ready for use.”
Provided information about the NEB-2 Ghost, another bomb weighing 970 kg, pointing out it was “the best bunker buster on the field.”
“U.S. missiles usually penetrate 2.4 m of C35 (standard concrete) at nuclear power plants. The NEB-2 penetrates a 7 m of C50 (three times more concrete than a nuclear power plant),” officials said.
Bunkerbuster bombs can also be dropped from F-16 fighter jets.
As part of aircraft testing, the NEB-2 bomb was dropped onto the island, penetrating 90 meters, and at a diameter of 160 meters, caused the island’s landslide, gas leaks and rock destruction, officials reported.
“The explosion that normally takes 25 milliseconds has been timed at 240 milliseconds and is even more destructive,” the official added.
