Iranian oil minister Mohsen Paknejad, who is a bystander at a meeting between Iraqi Electric Minister Ziad Fadhil and his accompanying delegation, said the two countries have advanced a gas export agreement that involves supplying Iraqi power plants across the borders of Shalamcheh and Naftshahr.
“There was a debate about the amount of gas exported, and fortunately we have reached a consensus,” Paknejad told Shana. “We have also achieved positive results regarding payments for previous gas exports, and we expect both volume and financial issues to be resolved soon.”
He described the atmosphere of the meeting as positive and thanked the Iraqi Minister, his team and Iraqi people for his hospitality to Iranian pilgrims traveling to Iraq for their religious visits and annual Aaaain pilgrimage.
Paknejad added that the Iraqi Electric Minister has pledged to make every effort to ensure favorable conditions for Iranian pilgrims to visit during the albain ritual.
