The director of the International Transport and Transport Maintenance Services Agency, affiliated with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, said between March 21 and July 21, 2025, 48.84 million tons of different types of goods were transported across the borders of the country’s land.
During that period, 775,391 tons of goods were imported into the country via roads, he said, adding that more than 49 million tons of goods are being exported from the country through land borders.
Hedayati points to the private sector infrastructure capabilities of the international transport sector, saying that around 2,490 competent domestic companies are operating in the international goods transport sector.
Currently, 26 border terminals operate in 12 states of the country, which play a leading role in transporting goods and passengers between Iran and neighboring states, he added.
