The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reports that more than 18,000 Palestinian children have been killed since Israel launched a massacre attack on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
This is equivalent to one child killed every hour. This is a percentage that even veteran humanitarian observers shocked, according to Al Jazeera.
“Death from artillery fire. Death from malnutrition and starvation. Death from lack of assistance and important services,” UNICEF said in X.
“In Gaza, an average of 28 children (classroom size) were killed a day.”
The agency highlighted the urgent need for food, water, medicine and protection for children in Gaza.
“More than anything, they need a ceasefire now,” UNICEF emphasized.
Axel Zaimovic of Al Jazeera reported that Gaza’s childhood was “replaced with the daily struggle for the fundamentals of life.”
Currently, the total death toll in Palestine is 60,933, with at least 150,027 injured.
In the past 24 hours, the siege of Israel’s starvation has killed 188 starvation deaths, including one child.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue to target food convoys and civilians seeking access to aid.
Rana, 10, was forced into Israeli bombing, suffered from a fallout caused by trauma after an airstrike hit near her shelter.
“Her hair and skin have turned white,” said her mother, Mai Jalal al-Sharif.
“She talks to her doll and says, ‘Do you want to play with me, or will you become like the other kids?” Her mental health is severely damaged. ”
Kadim Kuhu Basim, a boy who was forced to support six families after his father was injured, is another victim of the war with children in Israel.
Despite international laws requiring protection for them, children like Kadim have become intentional targets.
