Abbas Araguchi made a comment that he spoke to National Iranian television on Wednesday night.
The Iranian minister added that, as the IAEA knows, the director should know that a completely new condition has been created, “the law of parliament and the conditions on earth have changed.” After an Israeli invasion with the help of the US that bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities, the Iranian parliament approved a law suspending cooperation with the IAEA. There are no inspectors left in Iran.
“Some of our nuclear facilities have been attacked, bombed and damaged. For both reasons, it’s only natural that the new era must start with relations with the institutions due to changes in the field and the law of parliament,” Araguchi said.
He explained that this means that future cooperation with agencies must be made through Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and with approval.
“As far as regards our nuclear program, we have to say that the agency is not working well, especially when it led to a resolution of a government committee, especially in the past few months when we prepared a report before the war,” the diplomat added.
Araguchi continued to note that all Iranian nuclear facilities have been registered with the International Energy and Atomic Agency (IAEA) and are registered under its supervision, and IAEA inspectors regularly inspected when they were assaulted.
He repeated the Iranian perspective, saying, “In our opinion, the three European countries are not considered members of the JCPOA and are essentially not entitled to invoke a snapback mechanism.”
The minister added, “If that were the case, Iran would respond and forever lose its role in nuclear negotiations.”
