Iran’s Islamic Republic continues to closely follow the development of the South Caucasus and is in contact with its neighbouring countries, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding these events, the ministry said.
It added that no doubt that peace and stability in the Caucasus region will benefit all countries in the region.
Welcoming the finalization of the text of the peace agreement between the two countries, Iran emphasized that it considers this an important step towards achieving lasting peace in the region.
At the same time, Iran may raise concerns about the negative consequences of any form of foreign intervention, particularly near its shared borders, which could undermine the safety and stability of the region.
Emphasizing the need for political, legal and economic measures to protect the rights and interests of the state, Iran believes opening communication routes and unblocking transportation networks will only help the stability, security and economic development of local people if they are pursued within the framework of mutual benefits.
Iran has reaffirmed its preparation to continue constructive cooperation based on mutual benefits with both Azerbaijan and Armenia, reaffirming its preparations to protect the region’s peace, stability and economic development, including regional forms such as the 3+3 mechanism.
