A diplomatic source told the Anadoru Agency that the session originally planned on Saturday was rescheduled at 10am local time. There was no reason for the change. The UK, Denmark, France, Greece and Slovenia have requested a meeting.
The session’s call comes after the Tel Aviv administration’s security cabinet approved plans to seize Gaza city, north of the besieged enclave late Thursday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News before the meeting that his administration is “intent on full control of everything in Gaza.”
According to diplomatic sources, the move has been approved by all UNSC members except Panama (current chairman) and the US, both continuing to protect Israel from international accountability.
Over the past 24 hours, bloodshed has been intensified. At least 14 Palestinians were martyrs, several were injured on Friday, and occupying forces struck multiple locations across Gaza, including areas where civilians were desperately waiting for humanitarian assistance they had hoped for the humanitarian assistance they had.
Medical sources reported that three people were killed and others were injured when Israeli forces fired fire at a crowd waiting for assistance in central Gaza. In eastern Khan Yunis, an airstrike near Asfor Station killed a man and his wife, and another drone attack took two more lives near Bani Suhaila’s roundabout.
In northern Gaza, Israeli airstrikes at Sanafore Junction in Altafa killed one civilian, wounded another, and another was killed on another strike on Mushutahi Street in Shejaiya. In central Gaza, five members of the Aid Security Team have been killed, while several have been injured in a drone strike near the Kissfim intersection.
Since October 2023, the regime war with Gaza has killed more than 61,200 Palestinians, leaving the enclaves abandoned.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for Netanyahu and former war minister Joab Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
