Mao again played an instrumental role in Japan’s second goal, successfully building the ball for the shallow Furuta, who passed the Iranian defender and returned home.

Alternate Anon Zda took Japan’s ninth in the 61st minute with a first ball touch, knocking on the corner inside the house.
Takahashi hikari added her name to the score sheet in the 74th minute, controlling the loose lob through her chest before lining the ball sideways in the net.
