On Sunday afternoon, Araghchi spoke about the bystanders of the cabinet meeting, chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian, where he told journalists, “The negotiations with the IAEA will be held to determine a framework for cooperation. No cooperation will begin. This framework is also based on laws approved by the Iranian parliament.
He continued, “Contact with Europeans continues. They raised the issue of snapback mechanisms, but our position is that snapback is not related. Europe is not considered a JCPOA participant in our opinion. Of course, there are technical and legal arguments in which my colleagues are in contact with Europeans, but they are not suitable for the next match.”
On June 25, Iranian parliament unanimously passed a law that required the government to suspend all cooperation with the IAEA. Under the law, agency inspectors will not be permitted to enter Iran unless the country’s nuclear facilities and peaceful nuclear activities are guaranteed.
In response to questions about new negotiations between Iran and the US, Araguchi said the next round of consultations has yet to be revised.
He added that the indirect Tehran-Washington speech has not yet been confirmed and that none of the countries have confirmed as the host of negotiations.
Iran and the United States had held five rounds of indirect talks on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program before the Israeli regime launched a war of aggression on June 13th.
The sixth round negotiations mediated by Oman were scheduled to take place in Muscat, Oman’s capital, on June 15th, but were halted due to Israeli attacks.
