The top medical officials of Islamic Republic of Iran also met with Al Ariji, the national security adviser in Iraq. There, the two discussed cooperation and joint coordination between Iraq and Iran.
Larijani embarked on his first foreign trip today, since envisaging a position to travel to Iraq.
The main purpose of this visit is to sign a bilateral Iran-Iraq security agreement.
Before speaking before leaving Tehran, Larijani said that the trip had two parts of Iraq. “Iraq is a friendly and adjacent country with relatively high levels of close commercial relations. As shown during the Albain pilgrimage, our cooperation between the two countries is strong and we would like to thank the Iraqi government,” he said.
Referring to the Iran-Iraq security agreement, Larijani emphasized, “Iran’s approach to relations with Iranian neighbors is to be Iranian security a primary priority and also to pay attention to the safety of their neighbors.”
He also announced that his trip would include a visit to Lebanon.
