Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s highest security board, is visiting Lebanon for the second round of his travels to the region, but arrived in Beirut on Wednesday morning to hold a meeting with Lebanese officials.
During this visit, Larijani met and met with Lebanon President Joseph Khalil Aung.
The meeting was attended by the accompanying delegation and Iranian ambassador for Lebanon Mojtaba Amani, working on the latest developments and measures to strengthen mutual relations between the two countries.
Larijani has made a visit to Tehran, asserting Iran’s preparations for Lebanon to support Lebanon in its reconstruction project and informing him of Tehran’s invitation to President Tehran.
Iranian officials welcomed President Aoun’s role in maintaining Lebanon’s national solidarity and unity, emphasizing that Iran will not interfere with Lebanon’s regional issues.
Next, President Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s intention to strengthen bilateral relations with Iran in the context of sovereignty and mutual respect.
President Aoun also emphasized that Lebanon is home to all citizens, including Christians and Muslims, adding that the state is interested in protecting all Lebanese people.
