Senior members of the Fatah Alliance in Iraq reaffirmed the demand for the withdrawal of US troops, calling their expulsion an irreversible state decision and described their continued existence as a source of national instability.
The removal of the US military could significantly restructure Iraq’s security and military strategy, and could have broader impacts on regional dynamics.
Adi Abdul Hadi said: “The presence of US military forces in Iraq does not help the country’s security and stability. These troops prioritize the interests of the Zionist regime and make their existence a factor that destabilizes them.”
Members of Congressional Rep. Saba El Aquili related to the Iraqi rights movement also criticised Washington’s efforts to put pressure on Baghdad through Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He described these actions as a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and international law, arguing that the goal is to ensure that Iraq remains within the scope of US influence and interfere with Baghdad’s independent decision-making.
