The legion made a statement on Sunday, commemorating the anniversary of the 1980s when the freed prisoners of the war were imposed by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
“Today, Iranian state, standing at the height of experience, faith and increased strength, is ready to crush the enemy’s front and malicious plans for the security and future of its land.”
The legion welcomed previous prisoners as “a true symbol of aggressive resistance and strategic hope.”
The IRGC emphasized that the former military victory over the enemy at the time was also reflected in the country’s wider victory during the war of eight years and the repelling of the Israeli-American invasion in June.
It pointed to Iranian forces retreating Iraqi invaders in the midst of overwhelming support and urged the Israeli regime to demand a ceasefire on June 24, despite receiving unprecedented American support through a 12-day attack.
The legion added that this same spirit of victory is evident in the strength of Palestinian resistance and the repeated defeats suffered by the Zionist regime and American supporters in the West Asia region.
“The power that can bending the greatest war machine”
The legion also praised the previous soldiers for their resilience, who proved that “faith, national unity, revolutionary and unchanging power can bring the greatest war machinery and imperialist policies to the knees.”
Meanwhile, the IRGC has pledged not to succumb to the ideals of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution and leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The legions ultimately foresaw the Western-backed occupation of Israel and the ultimate liberation of the local people from American military adventurism.
The prospects concluded that “expand the geography of resistance to the (global) Islamic Umma (national) ultimate victory horizon.”
