A formal welcome ceremony featuring the Honorary Guards was held in the courtyard of the Independence Palace. The national anthems of both countries were played, and then Alexander Lukashenko and Masudo Pezeschkian proceeded to the ritual hall of fame to pose for a joint photo.
The President is expected to discuss bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and industrial cooperation, implementation of joint initiatives in science, technology and education, and interactions between countries within the international framework, including the EAEU, SCO, BRICS and the United Nations. Regional and international security issues also rise on the topic of discussion.
Foreign trade between Belarus and Iran has shown growth over the past five years. Mutual trade was $24.7 million in 2020, but by 2024 it exceeded $113 million. From January to June 2025, trade reached $74.4 million, an increase of 33.6% compared to the same period last year.
