High-ranking Iran and Belarus officials have signed 12 cooperative documents in the fields of politics, international law, tourism, arts, media, health, medicine, industry, environment, freedom, industrial and special economic zones and investment.
The presidents of Iran and Belarus signed a joint statement at the ceremony.
Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian has arrived at the Palace of Independence for a meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
During a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on Wednesday, President Pezeshkian criticised the unilateralism promoted by the United States and certain European countries, saying the approach could withstand both countries.
Pezeschkian said the US-led Western countries are trying to direct the agenda to Iran and Belarus. However, Tehran and Minsk are confident that they can effectively tackle sanctions and challenges through serious cooperation.
Furthermore, the Iranian president expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss mutual interests and accelerate the implementation of shared capabilities.
Pezeschkian highlighted friendly bilateral relations between the two countries and focused on integrity on various regional and international issues. He said the two countries are engaged in constructive cooperation within international organizations such as the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and BRICS.
He also pointed out a widespread commonality between Iranian and Belarusian perspectives. We believe this will create a solid foundation for fully implementing the agreement and promoting serious cooperation in both regional and international sectors.
In response, President Lukashenko welcomed President Pezeshkian and his delegation, acknowledging the delay that occurred prior to the visit, but emphasized that they never reduced their importance. He reaffirmed Belarus’ position as a trusted friend and partner in Iran.
Lukashenko expressed his commitment to expanding cooperation in the spirit of friendship, ensuring that potential obstacles to the agreement could be resolved. He also recalled his visit to Tehran, his meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and called for President Pezeshkian to convey his best wishes to Ayatollah Seiyed Ali Khamenei.
The President also raised his relationship to the highest level, stating his belief that there are no barriers to expanding the cooperation of the Iranian Berals and encouraging discussion in all areas of mutual interest.
