The drone raided overnight and burned the corn fields in the village of Ossiny in the eastern Lublin province, just 100 km (62 miles) from the Ukrainian border and about 90 km from Belarus.
Poland is on high alert about objects entering the airspace as Ukrainian missiles struck a village in South Polish in 2022, killing two people.
Pawel Lonski, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Reuters that previous findings and some experts have proposed that the Russian version of the Shahed drone, developed by Iran, is involved in the latest incident.
General Dariusz Malinowski said the drone looked like a decoy designed to self-destruct. He said it has a Chinese engine.
Deputy Prime Minister Koshiniak Kamishiz, deputy prime minister and deputy prime minister, said the incident could be linked to an incident in which Russian drones jumped into Lithuania and Romania and efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
“Once again, we are dealing with the provocation of Russian drones by the Russian Federation with Russian drones. We are dealing with it at a critical moment when peace debate is underway (in Ukraine),” he told the journalist.
