Russia unleashed Ukraine’s heaviest airborne bombardment in over a month and fired hundreds of drones and missiles that killed one person and injured more than dozens of others, Ukrainian officials said Thursday.
Prime Minister Yulia Swillidenko said the barrage has highlighted Moscow’s lack of interest in peace, despite the bolstering our diplomacy in recent weeks.
“Last night, Ukraine was exposed to a strike that combines massive strikes, including drones, cruises, ballistic missiles and even high-solic weapons,” she wrote on social media.
The Ukrainian air force said Russia fired 574 drones and 40 missiles, of which air defense intercepted 546 drones and 31 missiles.
In the western city of Lviv, one person was killed and two others were injured in a drone and missile strike, said Regional Governor Maxim Kozitsky. Dozens of homes have been damaged, he added.
