In the shocking and chaotic scene, one of the fans of Chilean visitors jumped out of the stands to escape an attack attacking supporters on the other side after being cornered, AFP reported.
Home supporters beat and stripped the clothing visiting fans after raiding the away end, AFP reporter at the scene said.
The violence erupted at halftime as fans on the Chilean side began to throw stones, sticks, bottles and seats into the home supporter section.
“The reason why 90 people are being detained outside the stadium is because they are trying to get into trouble and have already been taken to the police station,” the source said.
