Szijjarto emphasized that it is ready to provide “fair and safe conditions” for dialogues aimed at ending the war, reported Hungary’s Magyar Nemzet newspaper.
“If we need it, we are ready to provide appropriately fair and safe conditions for such peace negotiations. We are pleased if we can contribute to the success of our peace efforts,” he said.
He recalled that Budapest made an offer in the first few days after the conflict began.
“Three days after the outbreak of the war, I spoke on the phone with my fellow (Russia) Foreign Minister (Sergei) Lavrov and Andri Yermack, head of the Ukrainian presidential administration. He said Hungary wanted peace.
Szijjarto emphasized that Hungary’s invitation has not changed.
“If they were looking for a venue for dialogue that would bring peace and end the war, they could come to Hungary any time. Please let them know an hour in advance. We are ready to ensure fair, safe and equal conditions for all Hungary.
