In a post on his X account on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei written, “The #United States’ imposition of sanctions on four more #ICC judges (of Canadian, Senegalese, Fijian, French nationalities) for addressing #Israel’s atrocity crimes is not only an unprecedented assault on justice but a blatant complexity in war crimes, crimes against humanity and the Palestine Genocide.
This brave illegality bares the true essence of “rule-based order.”
The US sanctions imposed on four other judges at the International Criminal Court (Judges of Canadian, French, Senegale and Fijian nationalities) to investigate Israeli crimes are not only an unprecedented attack on justice, but also a clear accomplice in war crimes, crimes against humanity and the Palestinian genocide.
The US Treasury has imposed sanctions on Kimberly Prost, Judges, Trials, International Criminal Court, Nicholas Yang Girow, Judges, Trials, International Criminal Court, Nazhat Shamem Khan, Deputy Prosecutor, International Criminal Court, and Mandyei Nian, Deputy Prosecutor and International Criminal Court.
The attack on International Criminal Court judges, Baghey stressed, was a serious abuse of power that grants the Israeli regime an absolute immunity to continue its crime, approves further crimes, and places serious risks international peace and security.
In February 2025, the United States imposed sanctions on Karim Khan, the court’s chief prosecutor.
The US government recently took action to sanction Francesca Albanese, the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Palestine.
